On the first day of 2013, MAKINO MUSIC (Taizhou) Center started the “Meet the Principal” program. “Meet the principal” will be held regularly at the first weekend of every month. The founder and the principal of MAKINO MUSIC School, Mr. Yong Tian, will talk to parents face to face and share education related thoughts.
Book Sharing – Music Education Methods
On the very first event, Mr. Tian presented the book Parents are the Best Music Teachers for Children, written by Mrs. Youhui Zheng, to every participating parent as a gift. He stated that reading helped gain wisdom and open minds. Parent, as a guide for music learning child, should try the best to absorb more knowledge on music education theory, which was an effective way to scientifically lead children’s learning.
He made an introduction to the author Mrs. Zheng, who is an expert of childhood music education. Mrs. Zheng has dedicated over three decades to the research of music education for children around China mainland, Taiwan and USA. Mr. Tian continued to introduce the book that it pointed out and analyzed issues of childhood music education in current teaching and learning mode. He believed, by reading this book, parents would find a better way for children’s education.
Parent-Child Course – the Origins of Happiness
When it came to the system of MAKINO children’s course, Mr. Tian claimed that MAKINO defined its purpose as providing the most joyful, suitable and effective way for children to learn music; thus the design of the course system is based on children’s physiological and psychological characters. The course combines music theory, instrument performance with social-cultural knowledge together, encouraging the interaction between parents and children, teachers and students, and between students themselves. MAKINO intends to make music learning a happy thing.
Connect Family to School – Brighten the Future with Heart and Love
In the discussion session, parents put forward many questions in terms of music education. Mr. Tian patiently explained and answered parents’ concerns. He further talked the basic rule of music education and led confused parents to a right direction. A father said after the meeting that he never considered music education such profoundly. He used to force his child to play piano but ignored that interests are the key to bringing child a happy childhood. A mother of a four-year old child expressed her gratitude that MAKINO offered a place for her child to spend spare time and learn meaningful things. The group class makes her child happier and herself as well.
Sharing and communicating is the core purpose of “Meet the Principal” program. By sharing the good idea spreads, by communicating the wisdom generates.
